Deadhead spent flowers as needed or bring flowers inside to utilize their long vase life as cut flowers. In early Spring, trim back or gently pull out old tuberous stems to encourage new growth and better flowering.

Alstroemeria are true Goldilocks plants, they don’t like it too hot nor too cold. They are native to the Andes mountain region of South America, where it stays cool/temperate year-round. Ideal temperatures are 50-65 F but they can withstand intermittent hot days up to 75 F with afternoon shade and a little TLC. Frost will kill unprotected leaves and roots.
